1. Mud
You are still and then you start to move backwards. The mud underneath your feet brings you closer to the ground. After you forget the logic of what you are doing, there are many words to be found. Words that speak about your feet, heavy in the things they perceive and light in the things they imagine. They speak about what you left behind, that you can now clearly see as you trick time, walking backwards. Tricking time is tricky, since you have learned as a child that time is a line, and you can’t walk back. In the mudtopia, you might have to lose balance. But surely you will find your stillness as you whisper something written on the skin.
And there is no way back, if you only walk forward.
This is an extract of the text that will be published in the book about MUTOPIA, by Moks, centre for art and social practice , based in Mooste, Estonia, with who I had opportunity to work and nourishing a very special relationship. Mutopia was/is a series of immersive, open, collaborative workshops, that are in constant mutation. During the summer of 2009 I was doing a landscape theater residency at Moks, and was invited to lead the workshop with Taavi Tatsi, John Grzinich. Exploring layers of text, sound, orientation in the landscape, repetitive actions, practice of visual collage, was some of the elements that came into play.

Bellow you can see one of the actions that I proposed, linked with the text that starts this post.
